Mereille is an artist that has comfort in drawing abstract. When I suggested drawing the figure with the intent of abstraction she came up with some very good work.

Pen and Ink with Collage

On Monday (28-6-09) night I ventured into pen and ink. Since David Trout introduced me to collage with pen and ink, I find myself attracted to it. Here is a stop motion of the session.

School Holiday Session

During the school holidays Life Drawing Untutored will run as normal with the additional session during the day.
Timetable for the school holidays are:

Monday 6pm-9pm (as normal)
Wednesday 10am-1pm July 1 and July 8

Quan Sculpting from Clay

Quan is a student from my class, which I invited him to sculpt from real life model. I am amazed with his out come from last night considering the clay was very soft. Tell us what you think?

Life Drawing Untutored

Life drawing untutored has begun. Last night(15-6-2009) was the first of many figure-drawing sessions held at Chisholm Institute at Frankston. It is part of club collective which I have created through student union. The club offers students an environment where they can use supplied newsprint to draw from a life model. What’s really nice is there is no charge to students or staff (it’s free). Students can bring along any medium, quality papers and even clay if they choose. At the moment, Life Drawing Untutored runs on Mondays from 6pm to 9pm and is only offered to Chisholm students and staff. Here are some of my first drawings from last night.

CNC Prototyping Centre at Chisholm

The project is to promote the CNC (Computer numerical control) Prototyping Center at Chisholm Institute. The Rapid Prototyper is an ideal subject for time-lapse photography as it can take up to three hours to build a model. I prefer digital stills for time-lapse shooting as I have control over quality and better post production work flows. Some important rules to remember are, shoot with manual focus and exposure settings as this will help avoid flickering during playback.

HDR My experience

I have been passionate about photography for a while and have spent many years working only with camera raw. When I discovered the possibilities with HDR and what it offers in the digital photography realm, I was very interested in quenching my thirst. I’ve taken these photos to the extreme with HDR and with results that are not expedited in traditional photography. I’ve only recently discovered HDR and what it offers to photography as shear amazement.
